Description
Energy Storage Technology enables your empire to efficiently store excess energy produced by power plants and renewable sources. By developing advanced storage solutions, such as batteries and capacitors, this technology ensures a stable energy supply during peak demand and reduces wastage, optimizing your empire's energy management.

Strategy notes
Energy Storage develops the Energy discipline within Resource Ascendancy. Turn superior surveying, extraction, refining, and energy conversion into strategic control of scarce materials. Its immediate value is -7% Strategic Materials Cost, -5% Fuel Cost; +10 Production; +2% Happiness. The principal counterpressure is that extraction complexes are immobile, power hungry, and exposed to raiding or market isolation.
Player hints
This is an inexpensive path entry. Research it early when you want to test this direction without sacrificing strategic flexibility. Favor this technology when its Energy benefits reinforce your current economy, fleets, or frontier. Pause the branch if its expected RP per tick is too diluted or its resource costs would stall higher-priority projects. Complete every prerequisite before adding research progress. Generation is finite, local, staffed, and funded; this research does not transmit power between worlds. Local power reserve: 20 power-hours per active Power Plant, maximum 200 per world; 10 power/hour charge and discharge per plant, 80% charge efficiency. Each controller costs 1 credit/hour and uses five of the plant crew, independently of reactor fuel funding.
