Buildings & Upkeep
Buildings create the economy but also consume it. Active structures need workers, power, operating inputs, and upkeep; damaged structures add repair pressure.
Active buildings consume each tick
Disabled buildings stop cost and output
Damage reduces utilization
01
How it works
- A building's displayed values are base rates. Real operation is scaled by labor, integrity, inputs, power, stability, environment, and technology.
- Operating inputs and upkeep are essential spending. Repairs are funded separately and consume a fraction of original construction resources as integrity is restored.
- Disabled buildings produce nothing, but also stop their normal operating consumption—useful when preserving inputs for a more important chain.

Command advice
- Operate for purpose. Idle surplus capacity can drain the same resources needed by priority worlds and projects.
- Repair critical power, extraction, and logistics buildings first because their recovery restores downstream capacity.
- Compare a building's entire input chain with its output; the nominal production number never tells the full story.
