Diplomacy & External Income

Treaties connect economies. Trade agreements enable galactic convoy routes, while tribute and diplomatic infrastructure can move value or expand commercial capacity.

Trade agreements unlock galactic routes
Partner capitals are destinations
Treaties create strategic exposure
  • Galactic service is available only while at least one active Trade agreement has an eligible partner capital.
  • Diplomatic trade capacity improves the commercial strength used by convoy routing and arrival income. Tribute and other diplomatic transfers enter the imperial budget as external flows.
  • Ending a treaty removes its commercial access. Convoys return to available work rather than creating a permanent private route.
  • Choose trade partners for geography and reliability as well as wealth; a lucrative route through hostile space may be a liability.
  • Treat commercial agreements as part of foreign policy. They create mutual value—and predictable traffic worth protecting or threatening.
  • Do not let external income hide an unproductive core economy. Treaties can end at the worst possible moment.
